Some spiders can be your son’s playmate, but you won’t be happy to see plenty of spiders partying in your home. Much more unlikely if you come across the unfamiliar ones.

Australia is home to many species of spider, some carrying lethal bites. The city of Queanbeyan hosts many of these species. Among the most common household spiders are White-tailed spiders, huntsmen, redbacks and daddy long-legs spiders.

A spider bite may cause pain, swelling and itchiness, nausea, vomiting, headache, ulcers and necrosis. The severity of these may vary for each specie, but some spider bites can even cause death.
